A Rule for World Changers
If nobody advises you against your endeavor, your doing something boring that upholds the status quo.
I should probably put than in extra-bold-all-caps, because that is truly important.
You’re not changing the world by buying a hybrid model instead of a normal gas guzzling car.
You are changing the world if you challenge the need for individual automotor transportation.
So start car sharing with friends, or get rid of your car and buy a yearly pass for public transport.
Added side benefit: You can’t drive to IKEA and buy cheap stuff in car loads.
You’re not changing the world by buying organic meat.
You are changing the world if you go vegetarian, or better yet vegan.
So next time you shop walk past the meat aisle.
Added side benefit: You get to look up and try new recipes.
You’re not changing the world by surfing the net instead of watching TV.
You are changing the world by going out, doing something incredible and then writing about it in your blog.
So go out help your single parent neighbor with the chores, or go out and join a theatre group and playfully make your audience think, then come back and tell us about it.
Added side benefit: You’ll be showered with smiles from the people you connect with.
So how will you change the world today?
